Heard "Love is Just a Four Letter Word" by Joan Baez on NPR last weekend. Along with the electric sitar there was some nice "answering" steel--no hot licks, just tasty atmospherics.
Al Perkins? The Big E? Bobby Black, maybe? Inquiring minds want to know!
(BTW, I thought Baez was great.)

I'm pretty sure that's Pete Drake on that, from the album of Dylan songs she cut in Nashville in the late '60's. |

Chris:
"Love Is Just A Four Letter Word" is from Baez' - Any Day Now - album on Vanguard. I have the album in my hand and the liner notes list Pete Drake and Hal Rugg as steel players. It does not say who actually played on that track. |
