Hi Brett and Elizabeth,
Thanks for the welcome! I hope to be seeing you both very soon somewhere. Seems our best of times are spent together with "the family".

You made my day.

Hey, Laney, there's a Saluda show on November 20, so you'll get to see and hear me play my GFI Ultra D-10. You'll also get to hear me sing "Bartender's Blues" by George Jones and we can get a few pictures with the GFI! Love ya! Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel, GFI Ultra D-10

I'd love to be a close neighbor of Russ and Laney, I'll bet there's some wonderful sounds coming from that house.

Laney, welcome to the forum as yourself, in full glory.

For most of us you are Mrs. Hicks for sure,
but also a true friend of steelers and their music in your own right.

Bienvenue my friend.

For those that complain that there is no good country music being recorded today, get Laney's "Matters of the Heart" backed by her husband Russ and a host of other "Super Pickers" including one cut with BUDDY EMMONS.

TO quote Ron Elliot again,"It has memorable lyrics, memorable melodies and steel guitar breaks". His definition of how you tell real country music.

Laney,

Thanks for making the tribute show extra special. Your performance sure made a bunch of us old boys (including that old guy that follows you around) look and sound better than we should.

You should be a major recording act. Your voice is full of heart and your pitch, phrasing, and pocket is as good as it gets.

For all of you who don't have Laney's latest CD, you're missing out on some of the finest singing and steel playing possible.

Paul

Not only is Laney a superb singer, she is also a gifted speaker who speaks from her heart - as witnessed at Scotty's during the Sunday morning worship service!

However, Laney HAS been here - just hiding in the bushes!

Laney, this gives me a perfect opportunity to express to you and Russ how much your friendship means to Shirley and me. We always have a great time when we are with you all. If we could have chosen a brother and sister, it would have been you and Russ. For those of you that don’t already know, visit their web site and get information about the new Russless CD Tracks of “Matters Of The Heart“. It’s an exciting contest and should be a lot of fun for everyone who is a fan of Russ and Laney. If you ever wished you could back one of the best singers on the planet, at the next International Steel Show in St. Louis next September, here’s your chance. Here is a link to their web site where you can get more details. http://russandlaney.com/ Click on the News section.
