We had a special guest there this year. {Steve Robinson} the astronaugt who did the
"Space walk" actually called "extra vehicular excursion" who just happens to be a Steeler. The Mayor of St. Louis, proclaimed Sept 3 as Steve Robinson day. I'm retired USAF and i guess I take an extra interest in space , but I was so proud of him I could bust. He looked like you would want your son to look like if your son was an
astronaught. |

That was great. I worked in the space program, at a tracking station and at Goddard Space Flight Center on manned space projects.
Steve mentioned taking Dell Mullen and Jerry Byrd CD's in space with him. |

Ditto the above posts. As a nation, we really ARE blessed, (look how things are pulling together in the gulfcoast)...maybe not perfect, but far and away better than most everywhere else on the planet. Here is one shining example, and he's "our own"--in my humbly biased opinion! JZ |

Remember the difference between Joe Wright and Steve R. was that Steve did make it back. Sorry Joe, stole your line. |

I repeat, I can't imagine a guy stepping out of a ship travelling at 17,000 miless per hour. Steve, you are a true hero and we are all proud to have you as a steeler on our Forum. God bless the USA.

Yeah, and he said"If you think Jerry Bird sounds out of this world here on earth, you should hear him in space". |

The astronauts have my utmost admiration. I would not have the guts to go into outer space in a vehicle made of 250,000 parts all manufactured by the LOWEST bidder. |

And what a true gentleman. He must have signed and posed for photographs for at least 3 hours. I haven't seen anyone else do that, especially Tommy Lee Jones. I know that Gayle & I appreciated the time we visited with him and got to talk a little flying talk with him. |
