I want to buy steel albums which covered country standards from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Which recording contains covers of Ray Price, Hank Thompson, and others? I do have Buddy Emmons cover of Bob Wills standards which is a very good album with vocals and instrumentals. I would like an instrumental album.

You might want to try all the John Hughey albums he recorded in the last couple of years: "John Hughey", "Neck To Neck", "Lost In The Feeling", "Pure E9th" - lots of standards, played in the great Hughey style!

Albert Talley and Dale Morris Sr. have a couple new steel guitar and fiddle instrumental CDs out that are really good. One is "The Way Country Was" and the other is "Country Gospel Texas Style". They are put out by Ole West Productions. Billy

Scotty's music has one called "Steel Pickin' on Connie Smith," with four different steel guitarists playing instrumental versions of Connie Smith tunes, plus one vocal by herself.
