Topic: Need HELP for a son looking for his Dads' Sho-Bud! |

Hello, everyone! I know this is a long shot, but I'm trying to help a friend locate his Father's doubleneck Sho-bud from the late 60's/early 70's that looks to have 6 pedals and 1 knee. The steel player is JERRY FRANKS from the Aledo, Illinois area.
Jerry played around the Quad Cities in the 60's and very early 70's but sadly he passed away approx. 1972. His son, Kenny, is the brother-in-law of my girlfriend, and as he learned that I played steel he expressed that he has been heartbroken for years not knowing what happened to his Dad's steel as his mother sold it shortly after Jerry's death and through the years she had forgotten the buyer and has herself now passed on. This picture although it's well weathered is the best one he has showing the steel.....
I'm not a Sho-Bud guy, but is this a "Professional"??? The son simply wants to know if the steel is still in existence and possibly even being played, etc?
He fondly remembers this steel being his Dad's pride and joy and if any of you have any info. it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! I told Kenny that if there is any trace of this beautiful steel around someone on here would know about it.....Thanks in advance!!!

if it is a doubleneck i suspect it is a crossover model.
that would be the model just previous to the professional...with the wood neck surround by the changer.
looks really cool and has some custom touches to it!

| Yes, Chris, it's a D-10, and was bought new in the late 60's for approx. $1500.00 by Jerry. |

| Thanks, guys. I posted this on my Facebook page and have had a few people that remember Jerry, but don't know anything about the steel's whereabouts. Am I right that on the crossover models the knee lever and pedals could actuate strings on both necks? |
