Time again to let everyone know where yer GIG is this weekend. My Band "Country Junction" will be pickin Saturday Night at the Tenn-Tucky Stateline Bar. . .Hwy 431-Nashville Road in Adairville, KY. 7pm till 12am. This is our first time to play there and it's gonna be outside under a covered Patio. They'll have grilled burgers, hotdogs, barbecue, and plenty pf cold brew. They're expecting a bunch of Harley Riders to stop by. The bar owner says they love that Classic Country.

BTW, our website has been updated. Click on to www.countryjunctionband.com We've got some new pictures, our gig line-up, and now you can hear MP3 audio samples of the band.

Although I am not going to be playing steel, I will be playing in Oakland this Saturday at "Rakasah", the big belly dance event of the season. The band I'm in, "Sahara Sands" is opening up the three day festival Saturday at noon. I'll be playing electric sitar, baritone guitar and my hammered electric twelve string.
It's a first for this band, (playing Rakasah) and we are really looking forward to it. The event is being taped for a DVD release and we will be releasing a live CD of the event (our band only) later this year.
Yee-haa!
Jay

Friday evening 6-8:30 at Alderbrook Winery in Healdsburg, CA, with Manzanita Moon. Open to the public.

Saturday evening 6-9 at Raymond Burr Vineyards in Dry Creek Valley, with John Reese & Open Hearts. Private party (wine club).

Both of these are fun gigs, low pressure, low hassle, etc.

Off work Friday at 3:30. Outdoor show at 4:30 with Ethyl and the Regulars in Cherry Creek (Denver). Forecast is for 101 degrees. Might have to take a dip in the creek between sets. Afterwards, over to Lincoln's Roadhouse from 9-1 with the Dalhart Imperials. On Saturday night the Dalharts are playing at the Lion's Lair in downtown Denver.

I'll be playing at the PA. 500 at Pocono Raceway. This is an anomaly for me because I am NOT a NASCAR fan. But, somehow it is inevitable that our lives will eventually be affect by NASCAR.

(duped from another thread...)

I'll be playing with the Swians around the Seattle area:

FRI at the Little Red Hen--three sets of orignals and covers. C'mon by to listen, drink and/or dance in Seattle's best honky tonk.

SAT night at the Kind County Fair in Enumclaw. Look for the KMPS South stage with Ruby Dee and Snake Handlers, and the Wakefields. The Swians close out the show at 10pm. All three bands do all-original country and Americana/roots music ("whatever that is"). Free shows with a $7 fair admission ...and root beer floats for a buck!

The big excitement for me is in two weeks: on 8/2 The Swains open for Clint Black at the big Lake Union Summer Concert series! (ulp...'scuse me while I go change my strings and start practicing!)
