I am going to San Antonio in early August and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on places to go that play country music (with lots of steel), or if there are any must see bands who regularly play in the area. I will be staying in the downtown area. Thanks. Bill

Bobby Flores is playing some dates around the 10th of August. Check out his website bobbyflores.com. Randy Reinhart is his steeler & does a great job. Jim Loessberg is his drummer. Worth hearing.

A great band, the Bobby Flores group.

By the way, are there any other country bands out there in which EACH member owns and plays a '65 Emmons wraparound?

My mistake... I don't believe the bass player owns one! Image

I'll be playing in/around San Antonio the first week of August with Patrick Glenn and the Snake in The Boot Band.

I'll be playing guitar as he already has a great steel player in the band.
I'm doing the dates he has on August 4th,5th,& 6th. Then the next week we all go to Saint Agreve, France to play at some rodeo.

I don't remember everyones names in the band, but the steel players first name is Kenny and the piano player Ronnie, from Ace In The Hole Band, is also on those dates.

The Kenny you are refering to is likly Kenny Groman. He plays an Emmons pp and is a monster on both necks. Kenny can take you way out on that limb and back. Should be a fun night.

Thanks, I don't know why I forgot Kenny's last name the other day.
I played a weekend with them last month and he is a great picker. He was playing a nice double neck Emmons Le Grand.
