I just got through watching Tommy White playing an up tempo two/four and soloing with The Whites. What an inspiration to playing steel guitar. Just fabulous.

It would be hard to find a better steeler than Tommy White. He is one fabulous picker.

Tommy always made the Whites sound over the top. I have some great TV shots of them when they would be on Nashville Now or the Opry a few years back and those were some of the best the group had enjoyed on the screen.

I remember when Tommy W. went to work with the Whites before he became the Opry staff player. Must've been hell to follow someone like Jerry Douglas on Dobro. Tommy played pedal steel and Dobro both and seemed more at home on steel but after a short time he really started to shine on Dobro and I didn't miss JD at all. He's really an all around versatile player who does it all as good or better than anyone out there...JH in Va.

DITTO on Tommy White. Has always been one of my favorite players. He just amazes me on everything he does.

He's still just a kid, really ( ), but surely Tommy will be remembered in years to come as one of the very best players ever to play a steel guitar.

My favourite!

Tommy is a great player. I have known him for a long time and he always played good. I remember when he was about thirteen or so playing in St. Louis at the International Steel Guitar convention. He was just burning it up. Seedy West said, heck at that age I was still learning to wave bye bye. Tommy is a dear friend. My best to you always. Bobby

WHITE IS RIGHT! Couldn't think of a more worthy musician to follow Weldon on the Opry staff band....
