Dickey Overbey's last show at St. Louis still haunts me and I am now an avid fan of his playing as anyone else can attest if they were there..I remember he was selling Cd's and I think the label was Roundtree or something like that, I actually have the cd but it's at home and if you called the label you could get ahold of him that way. the name of the Cd was called "Honky Tonk Memories"

I too met him in St.Louis at the steel convention. I was just blown away by his playing. I could not get enough enjoyment that day. I do have his honky memories cd and have about worn it out. What an awesome player he is. |

I too have become a huge fan of DO. I went to Dallas to hear him..and was disappointed that he wasn't there. Nobody mentioned of his possible illness. I have tried that email route in the past, and have never had much luck in contacting him directly. I had just assumed that he was traveling, never thinking that he could be ill. I hope he is OK..I just admire his playing so much. I would love to ask him about those big spreads he gets. Just a great sound, and style. |

I was lucky enough to catch Dicky this past year in Ft. Worth. As we all know, his playing is great, but his tone was maybe the best I have ever heard.
His gear:
Old Emmons P/P
Boss RV-3
old Peavey LTD
....and the 2 best hands in the business!

I found my Cd of Dickey's "Honky Tonk Memories" and here is the contact information: The label is called Southland Records, Inc PO Box 1547, Arlington TX 76004-1547 and Tel# (817) 461-3280 also Dickey DOES have a website and it is:
DickeyOverbey.com also Dickey plays quite frequently with Justin Trevino. Hope this is of some help.

p.s. if you dont have "Honky Tonk Memories" you should definately get it.."Another Bridge to Burn" is a sweet track and Dickey has quite a nice vocal part on "The Last Waltz" |

Barry,
I'm glad DO is doing well.. and still working. I do hope he will make the Dallas Show this next year. I was so disappointed not to see him at the Dallas Show this year. I did meet Justin, and he told me that DO would not be playing in the program. Anyway, so glad to hear you talked to him..and if you talk to him again..tell him his fan club missed him. Thanks for the feedback. |
