Who played this??

In the late 40's, Don Cornell sang 'Room Full Of Roses' with Sammy Kay's Orchestra. Not usually of much interest to a steel player, but there was a really 'haunting' steel part on it ... I was wondering WHO played on the recording... Jerry Byrd, perhaps?? Any ideas?
