Art, ART! Don't close this yet. What did you decide??? I've been using a DeltaFex II for several years now. Is the ProFexII better??? Informed users want to know????

(If so, then I'll know what to put on my next birthday/Christmas list...)

It's "apples and oranges". The Profex II is a preamp and a programmable effects processor. The Deltafex is an effects processor only and is limited to what is available with the switch selected effects. I don't remember exactly what is on it (I used one for a couple of years) but it's mostly reverb/delay/chorus/leslie effects.

The Profex II was discontinued in the mid 90's and replaced by the TubeFex and Transtube Fex, who were also discontinued a couple of years ago.

ART I HAVE BOTH, THEY BOTH HAVE THEIR PLACE, I DONT KNOW WHICH I LIKE BEST..BUT THEY DO NOT WORK VERY WELL TOGEATHER,, USE ONE OR THE OUTHER......THE LESLIE EFFECT IN THE DELTAFEX I LIKE REAL WELL,,,I RIGGED MY SET UP SO THE PROFEX FOES INT LINE WITH STEEL AND THE DELTAFEX INTO THE EFFECTS PLUG IN ON MY NASH, 1000, THEN I PUT A 31 BAND EQ INTO THE SECOND EFFECTS PLUG IN, JUST BEFORE THE POWER AMP....... WORKS THE WAY I LIKE IT AND THE SOUND PLEASES ME........TRY IT , YOU MAY LIKE IT...... JENNINGS.... WE PLAY STEEL FOR THE BEAUTIFULL ANGELIC SOUND.... FOTE FOR THE POSSUM TO BE OUR MASCOTT........
