Loudon Wainwright III

I did a forum search for my favourite singer sonwriter. Nothing. Terribly unfair, he uses Dave Mansfield on pedal steel quite a lot and I love the songs and the use of steel in a non pure country context.

¿Noone else heard any of these little gems?

Go to Rhino records website. They have a label called "Rhino Handmade" and they release unusual Cd's of old out of print stuff. They did a compilation of Loudon Wainwright III and it is great! Hopefully they have a few left.

I always loved Loudon. Funny how his one chart hit "dead skunk in the middle of the road" is nowhere near his best song. Forumites who've missed his insightful sarcasm may remember him as Capt. Spaulding, the guitar weilding cutup on M*A*S*H*... Great songwriter.
