Country performers on a "country show on TV"...gotta love it, everyone did a bang up job. Especially the steel picker, Paul Sr. gotta be proud of that boy...

They acted like they didn't want to show Brent's face and didn't show Paul enough. Don't they know who is laying the musis out there for the singers. They don't think the band is important????

I happened to turn the TV on within the first 5 minutes and get a tape in. I enjoyed the show, especially the steel and guitar, but singers were good too. I used to enjoy Harry Connick Jr and his band, but not so much his solo performances. Oh well, that Franklin was a beauty and sounded so sweet with Paul on it. Thought maybe Wynona was gonna smack George. Love her voice.

It was a fine thing to hear the steel so up in the mix. Enjoyable to see the way the steel fill-ins were shown during the vocals.

It was odd that they seemed to want to make the musicians anonymous, no faces, just instruments and hands. In a way that was good - I've never had the pleasure of watching Paul play up close and the few close-ups and over-the-shoulder shots of his playing were great. But the downside was not really being able to see Paul's face.

Still it was a good thing to watch and listen to. World class steel guitar up in the mix on TV - pretty rare thing.

I just noticed that this Soundstage is listed to play in Dallas on KERA 13 tonight from 7-9 PM. The listings have been wrong before, but I'm setting my VCR just in case.
