Just saw Ben Harper on Leno sitting down playing a lap steel while singing "The Wicked Man" with the Blind Boys of Alabama. The steel was a little too far down in the mix, but it had some fuzz and sounded pretty good in the arrangement. Steel guitar - it ain't just for country and Hawaian anymore.
