I saw curly playing his Sho~Bud on the
Wilburn Bros show. What a great tone he
got out of that Bud.The sound of thos
Buds are often tried to be copy'd but
never duplicated. Was great picken and
great tone.

Yup, "Steelin' the Blues" for his solo instrumental on the Sho-Bud, awsome! Last week's show they featured him playing his MSA and it sounded like a swing version of Tenn. Waltz?? Did anyone else catch that?

That was the Baldwin ShoBud crossover with Curly's setup. It was on a lot of recordings of the late 60s and early 70s and had a super tone.

I am still amazed at the tone Curly achieved with a Fender Steel Guitar on "BIG HITS ON BIG STEEL" It was sort of mis-leading, since the Record Jacket showed Curly behind a D-10 Sho-Bud.

I saw Curly Chalker as well on the Wilburn Brothers Show. What a monster player he was. Too bad Hee Haw never let him showcase the talent that he had. I love to hear those hard driving jazz chords he hit and his E9th was top notch.
