Sarah Jory will soon be delivering a series of steel guitar seminars in Nottingham (UK).
Starting with basics of tuning, Sarah will offer useful tips on how to use the bar, picks and volume pedal as well as skills such as harmonics, pick blocking and how to read tablature. She will also teach invaluable bar and fingerpicking techniques in a range of styles - from country to rock and jazz to blues!
Sarah will share her expertise on the steel with both beginners and intermediates.

You go Girl!!!
I gotta ask you all...who in the world would not want to learn to play Pedal Steel under Sarah Jory? Better than that is that she is a wealth of talent ready and willing to share it. She is a sensational player and person and I am looking forward to all she has to offer in the future. I am also looking forward to her trip into North Carolina the 31st of this month at the Bill Ellis Convention Center in Wilson, NC. There is another thread on the details in Announcements. She will be at St Louis and if you are not able to see her there...have a look into being in Wilson where she will be "THE PLAYER"...that's right.

Helen
Is this a one off or is Sarah going to start teaching on a regular basis?

Hi Clive,
Sarah will be taking two courses (beginners and intermediate) and I believe there will be a total of 12 - three hour seminars once a month. There will be a 'taster session' at Hockley Music Academy in Nottingham either later this month or in September. Exact dates will be put up on Sarah's and the HMA website soon.
Hope this helps?

I see on her website that she is touring as part of the Red Hot Country show. By coincidence, I got the Autumn brochure from our local Huntingdon Arts in Worcester. Guess who is playing the Swan Theatre on November 9th?
Guess who is calling for tickets in the morning?

Cheers!

Hi Helen
How about some one to one lessons? Has she got the time?

Hi Clive,
Its not something she can do at the moment -(purely because of her mad schedule!). However, these seminars that are coming up will be strictly limited to a few people, so that she can make sure they are of maximum interest to each player.
If you think you may be interested in the course, can I suggest you try and make the 'taster' session?
