Doyle Grissom woke me up this morning on TV playing his very beautiful GFI, Blue and silver D-10. The Jimmy Buffett band looked and sounded wonderful, singers needed tuning, but knew how to dress. Many great shots of Doyle and one of his two new GFI steels he got from me last month. Guess I should have given him a better deal!
Doyle, a friend of 40 plus years came into my store a little while back and said, I need a strong, light, dependable steel that works great, what do you have? I pointed and said, there's a room with 60 steel guitars in it, try them all and take what you want. After two days, he said, "the GFI wins", he paid me and has since bought another one and is telling the world over how he feels about this great guitar. It sure looked and sounded great on "Good Morning America" this morning. Jimmy Buffett got to perform eight songs, never saw that before! A great job by all the band and I'm very proud of Doyle, great player, and person.
How many of you got up this early and saw him?

Yes, Doyle Grisham is a very good player with an excellent gig. He deserves it -- he's been with JB off and on since the 70s. I remember him before that with Roy Drusky, the Glasers, and maybe David Houston(?) I'd like to see Buffett feature him a bit more prominently, but what else is new?

I'm only a casual Buffet fan-- one vinyl-- but I became aware of Doyle on the old Randy Travis albums. There is some fantastic steel on "Storms of Life" and "Forever and Always". I think he also did the dobro on those albums.

| I saw the show this am. Like Doyle, I am thrilled with my new GFI D-10. It has very smooth action and it is much lighter than most other guitars. I purchased the guitar in December and opted for the keyless tuning system. I can tune very easily and quickly and the instrument holds the tuning very well. Check'em out. |

Yea,Joey, Doyle and the GFI were on about every camera shot. Very colorful band, the blue steel really stood out. This troop knows how to dress. A great show band that really has the folks rocking and singing on every number. Just goes to show, the amount of singing talent the "star" has isn't everything. But I am a fan of this particular act.
It's really the total unit as a whole that's important. Come to think of it, some of my favorite groupes over a lifetime of musical appreciation were fronted by average or below average singers. Not to mention any though, because we wouldn't all agree.

| I saw it Bobbe.....good show too, I thought. Jimmy Buffet sings a mean Hank Williams tune too! The GFI Steel did look good, and got in nearly every shot. Looked like Buffet had a 10 Piece Band, as close as I could count? |

I saw it too,really enjoyed Doyle and the Blue GFI. Wonder what happens when the gal singing with the nose ring sneezes.

Stopped by the ED lounge at the hospital for a coffee and caught the tail end. I have always liked Doyles playing. And yes, that GFI is a smoking horn!
Didn't know you were an E.T. fan.

| I also saw Doyle on GMA. That GFI sounded great and so did Doyle. I knew Doyle before he ever started playing steel. I still play with his brother "Shorty Grisham" sometimes. He's a super bass player and a hell of a guitar picker. Blesed is Shorty to have a brother that's as talented as Doyle is and visa-versa...Don. |

Doyle played steel on Randy's "Forever & Ever Amen" smash hit! However, Paul debuted the Ped-a-bro on that song.

Well heavenly days, I just received my new GFI S-12 with keyless tuning and it is absolutely gorgeous!! A big thanks to Bobbe Seymour for all of his help. This was bought sight unseen and based upon Bobbe's outstanding reputation. I didn't go wrong. Did I tell you I'm excited? Best steel I've ever owned. Thanks again Bobbe.

Well I will be there and with your help, hope to find exactly what works best for me. I've got tons to learn and want something that doesn't hug me and lift up everytime I push a pedal. I'm betting you can help get me setup.
