I have procrastinated sending you this message for 7 months now. In the early 1980's you and Scotty came to Albuquerque, NM to hold a seminar. After the seminar you were meeting people and signing autographs. A gorgeous Japanese girl came up to you and tapped her finger on your back. You turned around and smiled at her. Then you realized she was with me and your face turned sour as you thought she was a steel guitar groupie. O well, then you took a picture with both of us. I wanted to know if you remember the incident or even remember coming to Albuquerque. Anyway, I was a guitar player in rock and funk bands attempting to learn steel and she bought me the album "Suite Steel." She was my wife of 31 years and passed last year of colon cancer. I wanted to let you know that she knew nothing of steel guitar except that she heard you play and for 25 years pushed me to play better. As I practiced and started doing gigs she always referred to you as the "Sensei" or "Master" She would always comment "Doesn't sound like Buddy Emmons yet!" Anyway because of her support I have enjoyed a career as a steel player out here in the west. Now that she is gone all I want to do is play. I bought a new steel, new amp, rackmount effects and I am anticipating going back on the road.........Thanx Buddy

Ron,
So Sorry to hear of the loss of your wife.
Did you ever meet a steel player named Larry Mc murtry from Ft Collins Colorado? Larry is a friend I would love to recontact.
He played a Bomeland D 10 back in the 70's and taught history there in Albuquerque.
Thanks in advance
