I recently purchased a Williams guitar and im just blown away not only with quality and finish but the playability and tone. And I have owned evertying under the sun including a new Zum, Mullen, Derby, Carter, Emmons and the rest are too many to mention.
But in my books nothing comes close to the Williams. Sustain is just unreal along with the tone and action. I just dont understand why you dont see more people playing them. I think it has to do with Bill doesnt make but a few of the shows and he doesnt give any guitars away to the hot shots.
I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR ALL YOU WILLIAMS OWNERS COMMENTS. SO BRING IT ON, IM VERY INTERESTED

I have a Williams keyless 400, great guitar

In my opinion, the Williams Guitar is one of the best steel guitars made today. Bill Rudolph is a craftsman of the first order.
Furthermore, Bill is just a great guy! Check out the back string bridge on the changer. Bill has a great invention on the back string bridge. Bill's guitar is the only one that has this great invention on it. Bill holds the patent on this invention. There are several really good guitars being made today. Willams is one you should check out. Just my opinion.

And there is something to say about the weight of Bill's guitars also, they wont tear your back up.
I realy enjoy the one he made for me. They are a real fine instrument and a work of art.

How do you contact The Williams company ? Is There a web site ? etc ?

I don't play one, but they are one of the best Steel Guitars Built today. Bill is a true craftsman and a great gentleman besides.

Well, I don't play one either, because not many would hire me to play a steel, although I DO own one (Sho~Bud Keyless) I am primarily a fiddle player, but I do know several steel players that DO play the "Williams" , and they all swear by them. In fact, a very good steel player, and myself cut a CD last summer, and he plays a Williams (very well, I might add). So YES, the Williams is a fine axe indeed. If I was in the market for a new steel, there would be no doubt which one I would get, I would only have to decide on a color.. Yes, Bill Rudolph is a cool dude.

I've had my keyless 400 U12, for about three years now and I still think it's the best I've ever owned. I ordered a teal color and I love the shade Bill made it. The light weight of my steel was a requirement that I had, and I believe this guitar weighs 33 pounds. My last Sierra was 80 pounds. I wouldn't hesitate in buying another.

I do not play a Williams steel but a good friend does, and the double ten Wiiliams steel he has is state of the art. I picked on it and was really impressed with all aspects of the instrument.
