Webb recorded a tune called "If crying would make you care" in 1951(?) and I think Shot Jackson played the steel on this one. Anyone tabbed that tune(or at least the intro) out? Which tuning did he use? I'm probably too stuck in my E9th PSG stuff

I mean I can nail it somehow in E13 but it sounds not 100% correct...some hawaiian touch I hear in the original is missing

It was Shot and it seems to me that he was still playing his 7-string E tuned Rick at that time. It is straight forward playing, two stings at a time except on the end single string run and then chimes.

He did several recordings with Webb and also Jimmy Osborne at that time, right after the Bailes Brother broke up and before he went full-time with Johnnie and Jack, and Kitty.

You can hear that instrument on her first recordings as well.
