Hey, Folks...
Just wondering if any of you steelers ever heard of a Guy (Johnny Del Rey) who I belive is out of OR. State.
I know he played a Serria 12. I found something last night with his pix on it.

I met Johnny a few years ago. He was working with 2 different groups, one out of central Oregon and the other with his cousin in the Portland area. His cousin moved to Nashville and haven't seen Johnny in awhile. Hope to run into him again some time. Nice guy, good smooth picker and does play a Sierra.

Thanks, as soon as someone lets me know where he is, and how to get hold of him, I will tell you guys something cool about him. All I can say at this time is: "It's a SMALL WORLD."

I was setting up for a gig at Jubitz this winter and he came up and shot the breeze with me one Sunday.

He was, as Doug said working with Les Richardson before he went to the Big N.

I understood from him that he had had some health problems that are in the process of clearing up.

Heck of a nice guy, and good player.

I used to work with Johnny Del Ray several years ago in Northwest Missouri area. He and his mother are from that area originally. He is a good steel player and a good lead man. His mother played bass and they both sang. He was on a show about five years ago in Ravenwood Mo. (The Barndoor Opry) I play steel for the show a couple of times a month and Johnny came in and sang a couple of songs. Haven't seen him since. He was having some health problems at that time.. Vance
