Dickey's Back

After my own gig this past Saturday night,
I headed on over to the local VFW to catch Jake Hooker and guys before they wrapped up for the evening. And especially to see Dickey Overby. This was his first appearance since his heart surgery. Couldn't tell it though - still classic Dickey tone and licks. Such a great player! He is aware that many, many of us out here in "steeler land" were pulling for his swift recovery - and that Bobby Flores had done a great job of keeping us informed.
Oh and by the way, Bobby Flores was playing there also. Just kidding Bobby - you also did a superb job (as usual). Nice to hear you sing a selection from your new CD.
For all that are in driving distance, there will be a benefit to help on Dickey's medical expenses (which were quite large) in Bandera, Tx on Sunday March 28th - at the 11th Street Bar. Hope to see some of ya'll there. It is for one of our own.....
