Hi Drew,

No, it's not Bobby Randall. Bobby's from Midland, he and I know each other from way back.

It's Jim McGivern, and if you want I can probably hunt up his phone number. Jim's been around for a long time. By the way, he also can play sax quite well and has a pretty good singing voice. My LeGrande II used to belong to him, and he currently has my push-pull loafer. He is an electrician by trade, worked for the City of Bay City for many years.

The last I knew, Jim was mainly playing at his church. Now I haven't heard from him in over a year so I don't know where he is currently picking. But I can probably find out for you. The last time I heard him, his playing style was quite different from mine, more "Jimmy Day" sounding I guess you describe it. He always liked the Ray Price shuffles and can kick the fiddle parts AND sing the tenor harmony as well! Good Guy.

Let me know if you want to contact him. See you at the Grand Rapids show.

Hey Tim!

I don't know Jon, only heard about him through friends in another band. He plays fiddle in a band called Hoolie in Bay City.

Thanks Drew!

He's gotta be either fairly young, fairly new in the area or fairly new in the business, otherwise I would know who he is as I only live 23 miles from Bay City. He should be pretty easy to track down, because steel guitar is not real common on the bandstands in Bay City as there is not much live Real Country Music in that city. There is nobody by the name Potyrkus in the Bay City/Saginaw phone book, and it's a fairly large book. So when the entertainment section comes out in the Bay City Times I'll hope to find out where this band "Hoolie" is working. If the Westown is still in business they may be working there. I'll let you know what I find out.
