I just obtained a copy of Mike Sweeney's CD titled; "Steelin on Broadway." I am not one bit dissappointed. Mike plays with great tone, and with so much feeling and "soul." Most of the tunes are solid Country Hits with the exception of the old jazz standard, "Freddy the Freeloader." I enjoy listening to the CD. The mix on it is good with the steel way out front where it should be. The other players on it also play well. I'm not sure who they are except for Jim Unger on fiddle. At least it sounds like Jim. It doesn't list the players, but it is one fine project. I'm proud to add this to my collection.

Bob,

Right on. A great album. If you will remove the title card from the front of the CD you should find that it opens up to show pictures of the players as follows:

Richard Ebert on piano, bass, drums and acoustic guitar.

Jim Unger on fiddle

Jackie Harris on Lead Guitar

And, of course, the old maestro, Mike Sweeney, on steel.

My favorite cut is "I'll Sail My Ship Alone" on the C6 neck.

MIke's newest album, "Tone On Tone" is also great -- expecially the theme from Exodus and "Love In The Hot Afternoon."

I picked up a copy of the CD last year at the Mtn City Jam. Great playing, Mike.
