I,ve just finished listening to Daryle Singletary,s That,s why I sing this way for about the 100th time and am still in awe of Mike Johnson,s work on this CDThe taste, tone, and execution are as good as anything out of Nashville in the last five years IMHO.The turn around on I never go around mirrors alone is worth the price of the CD.What make steel did he use on it.I would urge you to get this CD if you are looking for direction on playing with a REAL country band.TV

You are absolutely correct about Mike Johnson's playing on that album. Some of the best that I have heard as well. I actually wore out my CD from playing it so much. He uses a Franklin to the best of my knowledge for the entire album.

Also, there have been posts in the TAB section concerning his turnaround in "I Never Go Around Mirrors". I also have a rhythm clip for ya to practice that turnaround with. If you are interested or anyone else for that matter, drop me note and I will send it to you.

Regards,

Mark T.

Hey Tom,

The last time I spoke with Mike on the phone, he was using his Franklin for session work. That was quite a while back, a couple of years ago.

Truly superb work on the Livin' Lovin' Losin' CD. That must have been one awesome set of recording sessions to be a part of.
