Neil and I corresponded early last year and also had some phone conversations. I had purchased his "religious" CD. He's a very nice and skilled player.........however, it's like he's fallen off the edge of the earth as I can no longer reach him. Any news about him?

I've never met Neil, but I believe he played on the original recording of "Hot Rod Lincoln" and he also played Bobby Wayne's (50's rockabilly artist) band. I don't know if he still lives in Spokane or not.

I played lead guitar with Niel on an album
many years ago, as far as I know he is still in Spokane. Tom

Back in the early 50’s, I was teaching steel guitar in a local Spokane music store and Neil
was one of my beginning students. He was the only student (there may have been
others) that played better than his teacher after only three lessons. It was obvious that
he had something special. It’s good to hear that he is apparently well and, we hope,
still playing those great licks on the steel guitar. Thanks for the update guys........Wes

Neil is alive and well, living in Spokane Washington. Because of his eye sight problems, he does not play anymore-maybe once in a while though at his house. I talked to him just a little while ago and he is always full of good and funny stories about the road and people he's played with. He does not have a computer. The next time I talk to him I will let him know that there was a post here on the forum. I'll read him the post and replys. Duane Becker

Sounds great!! Chances are he will remember his
old steel teacher. This was at Thue/Blessing
music store in Spokane. I have the feeling that
he was less than impressed with the lessons but
he really didn't need lessons anyway - a real
talent like his can pick it up on his own. Thanks...Wes
