The weekend is here again, so tell us where you'll be playing Friday & Saturday.

Friday night, it's off to Clarksville, TN where me and my Country Junction Boys will be playing at the Moose Lodge from 8pm till Midnite. Saturday Night, we're back at Flea Country in Springfield, TN. (BIG PLACE. . . .20,000 sq ft Texas Style Dance Hall & Honky Tonk). We start at 7pm and play till 10pm. The SouthWest Band featuring Rusty Danmyer on Steel follows us from 10:30pm till 2am. Seven hours of live Country Music and the Coldest Beer in Springfield. Only 1 cover charge to hear both Bands. . . .What a Deal!

Hiya Nick and subsequent entrants. I'll be at the VFW Post 1970 here in Nashville for another weekend of shuffles, ballads and beer drinkin'.

No gigs, but the wife will be gone on Saturday, so I plan to experiment with big noises in the front room.

My gig calendar is up-to-date at b0b.com/gigs. Still sorta sparse for 2004.

Bobby Lee - email: quasar@b0b.com - gigs - CDs, Open Hearts
Sierra Session 12 (E9), Williams 400X (Emaj9, D6), Sierra Olympic 12 (C6add9),

Jim, that must be fun working w/Keeble. I've heard "Wild Turkey" and "I'll Be Walking .." (sounds like E on that one). Is he a local star down there? That's the kind of stuff they oughtta be playin' on the radio.

Will be with the High Stakes Band at a genuine Texas honkytonk, the B&B Ballroom FM1774 between Magnolia and Plantersville. The club where it take 15 women to get a full set of teeth. Jody.

I'm doin my first E9th pedal steel gig with Pete Olson and his Honky Tonk Band. It's a two hour company party in South San Francisco Friday evening. Pete's band does not usually have a steel but the client popped an extra pay share for a steel player and I got the call. Lookin forward to it. BW

Cal, the Billy Keeble CD you're referring to is "Unchained Country". I don't see a release date on it, but have heard that it was the last CD Buddy Emmons played on before his self-imposed "retirement" a few years ago. Thankfully Buddy is back on the picking and recording scene again.

I used to be in Billy's band back in the 80's before the traffic accident that almost killed him. Now he owns his own trucking business and only plays a few gigs here and there, but he has a pretty good following when he does play.

Not pickin' anywhere -- but I'll be sitting and listening to John Hughey, Joe Wright and Doug Jernigan tear the stage up at Hayward Henson's 5th Annual Steel Show in Lakeland, Florida both Friday and Saturday. I won't be making any money like you guys, but I'll bet I have a lot more fun.

I'm off for Jan and Feb. I've really enjoyed this time off. I've been able to catch up on house chores, had a great holiday season with my kids home. Most of all, I have been able to spend good quality time with my steel, really diggin' in to the C6th. I'll be ready to start back up in March with the Derailers. I'll keep you posted.
