Can anyone identify a Vince Gill song for me that after the catchy John Hughy intro begins with the words: " Rain, Rain "
Thanks for any help.

There's Not Much Love Here Anymore from Vinnie's "The Key".
I like the steel break even better than the intro.

Roy, That would be "There's Not Much Love Here Anymore". Below are the lyrics. Also at the bottom I've included a link to Cowpie with the chords and guitar tab.

There's Not Much Love Here Anymore Lyrics

Rain rain come on down
You're so welcome at my door
Come on down and ease the pain
I never hurt this bad before

Tears keep falling from my eyes
And all I do is walk the floor
It's not too hard to realize
There's not much love here anymore

Rain rain come blowin' in
Come wash these tears away again
Leavin's cut me to the core
There's not much love here anymore

Rain rain come blowin' in
Come wash these tears away again
Leavin's cut me to the core
There's not much love here anymore

Rain rain come blowin' in
Come wash these tears away my friend
Leavin's cut me to the core
There's not much love here anymore

Thanks very much.
If anyone has an MP3 of this they can send me ,,,,or just the intro and break would be fine. It's for educational purposes.
Maybe it is on Rebel and Ricky Site??
Anyone know?

Roy,

It's not on Rebel, Ricky & Jeff's site. As David Cobb mentioned, it's from Vince's album "The Key" released in 1998. I've got it and will try to burn the intro and break to MP3 sometime this weekend if I get the chance.

Respectfully,

Ok Dave, sounds good I will share with you,,,whatever the results of my research
if you wish.
I see you are from Tyler. About an hour ago I got a call from Forum member Dean Neely
who is originally from the City Of Roses.
He grew up and chumed with Bobby Garrett before he went on the road.
Thanks for your efforts.

The steel guitar break is classic Hughey, with a nod to Tom Brumley. The break to 'Look at us' fits perfectly on this song, incidentally.

About the last 8 bars of the break are
also rem-i-nis-cent of "Together Again".
The Brumley lick with the Hughey touch.
