Hey Cowboy,
has to be one of the best sites on the Internet...Music sounds good too.

Wonder what happened to the good old stuff we used to play? Alternative country? Does that mean something that is played instead of REAL COUNTRY? Guess So...

Wish I were in the namesake of the song...As usual tremendous technique and tone.. Guess that's what is expected from a Gene Jones ditty now-a-days..

Tell Charlotte Hi from the Cowpoke and his family..Will definitely be at the Texas Shootout this year. Am slowly quitting the commercial action and will be done with it by then. Super picking by a super person.

Hi Gene . . . (hummm, that sounds healthy!)

Great MP3. I could hear the rustling of grass skirts during that last long slide.

Stay well and keep on keeping on.

Ray, Fred, and Roy.....it's the nice comments from kind-hearted and respected musicians like you guys that cause me to keep the web-site on-line a little while longer when I begin to think that it's about time to shut it down. I appreciate it more than you know!

Great website Gene. I especially enjoyed the recording session with Harold Jenkins that has the dialog at the beginning with echo.

Oh, by the way guys, it is 76 degrees in Dallas today. I'm not tired of snow, but I did like the Pacific breeze!

Regards,
Terry Downs

Terry, that session was a long time ago but I still remember it well....That "fussing" between Harold and Johnny that you heard on that open mic was just repartee between good friends.

Ernest, that HOF show in Lake City sure sounds inviting.....actually, I do have plans to be in Daytona Beach in March. I hope it's warm.....The last time I was there in March a cold front came through that curled my ears and my saddle-bag lids!

Joe, what can I say except you'd better wear two or three t-shirts today. My weather report says that it's 35 below there this morning with a wind chill 15 degrees below that!.....My grandpa used to tell me that if it gets cold enough that you have to wear a coat, you are TOO FAR North!

Roy, if I can survive about 8-10 more weeks it will probably be 80 here also!

George...if it's only white rain, why is some it yellow?
