I heard of a Man in Portsmouth Ohio called Mr Sho Bud I have also heard his name is Ed Naylor. If anybody has a contact number or website please let me know.If there is anybody in Northern Ohio that can help me get A Sho Bud LDG 6&5 guitar straightened out please reply. I know VERY Little about a Steel Guitar...

The title "Mr. Sho-Bud" referred to someone else. He was located in Ohio, but I don't recall the mans name.?

I recall a thread awhile back, with regard to Ed stating that he wanted to be known as "Mr. Sho-Bud."
I don't know if it caught on outside of the Forum, but it was duly announced, duly noted, and then duly forgotten as I heard nothing else after that.

I was not aware that anyone other than "Shot Jackson" had ever been called "Mr. Showbud".

I suppose anyone can nickname themselves what they wish.
The thRead above sounds a bit tounge in cheek from Nick Reed et al.
But unless the name has been changed in court, Shot Jackson (and mebe Dave J. too) will be the only "Mr.Sho-Bud" to me.
Thought Big E can take the title anytime he wants too. |

I was not aware you could take someone else's legal trademark, stick a "Mr." in front of it, and then claim it for yourself. Could I declare myself officially to be "Mr. Coca Cola"? Or "Mr. Burger King" and then do business in the food industries? Would a guy who works on old cars and has a bunch of spare parts laying around the garage be allowed to call himself "Mr. Ford Mustang"? I rather doubt it, but even if it were possible, I think it would backfire in one's face, as industry insiders would most likely treat you with the degree of respect that the strategy deserves.

| I want to thank you all for reminding everyone I have probably the largest inventory of Sh0-Bud parts in the world.I need the sales to help pay a several hundred VET bill on a dog I rescued this week.Ijust got a call a minute ago and a fellow is coming in to pick up some parts for his "OLD" Sho-Bud. Gotta go . ED |

Right on Leslie.
Its not proper to infringe upon a Great man's accomplishments, especially since he has passed on.
There are quite a few of us who knew and worked for Shot who really don't have any appreciation for this sort of thing. Shot Jackson was a Good and Decent man.

I wonder if Chet Atkins granted himself the nickname "Mr. Guitar"?
I'll wager it was bestowed upon him by his fans as recognition of his skill playing the instrument, and not because he owned 75 or so guitars.

Mr. Ed "largest inventory of Sho-Bud Parts in the World" Naylor,
Esquire. Inquire within.
It don't really trip off the tounge though...
And may require a bigger business card.
Or he could just call hinself
