Ok...I'm posting this under steel players since it's more about players than the effects unit as such - but just move it if you disagree, b0b!

What I wonder is - were the Jeff Newman presets for the ProFex II the actual settings of Emmons, Green, Hughey and others, or were they Jeff's own settings for getting sounds similar to what the players mentioned above used?

It was my understanding that he had them work with the Profex when it first came out, and that is where they came from. However, if you do a search undere Jeffran College you can get his e-mail, and with a little luck you should get a reply; I beleive he is not at home at the present time but I may be wrong.

My favourite setting is the 'Pete Drake'
However its unlikely he ever programmed a Profex ll(at least in this world) so in some cases it must be someone elses work. Excellent job whoever did it!

I had to borrow a profex for Jerry Hogan's show in the UK. The setting I felt the most comfortable with was the Hughey setting. The PF preset didn't do it for me. I am not sure who created my preset-I know it wasn't me.....Paul

I like the Hughey setting the best too---that's through a 400.
