Howdy Folks;
Does anybody know where I could find some Christmas music performed on Steel Guitar?
It's getting close to that time of year and it would sure be nice to hear some holiday music on Steel.
Musically Yours;

You can download "The Christmas Song" (Chestnuts roasting ...) from my web-page below. It's a complete C6 jazz arrangement.

Hi Pete,
Bob McCormick out of Nashville has a brand new CD with tracks.
Bob McCormick
PO Box 50233
Nashville TN. 32025
Think it's $25.00 for the set. Well worth the money.
I've heard this and you'll love it.
Mike Sweeney has a goodun as well.

Check out Larry Bell's "Winter Wonderland" on his website. It is great.
Also Ditto, dig Jeff Lampert's "Christmas Song".
I always liked those songs, and so glad to hear their great versions......al

I echo the opinion of one of the heavyweights; Paul Franklin's "Christmas Collection". I've never heard better. |

There's another Christmas CD that's imminent - I don't know if it's been announced yet, so I won't say more, except that it's from one of the very best, and it's marvellous!!!!

Maestro Emmons' "Christmas Sounds of the Steel Guitar" should be in rotation with the best stuff they play on the radio every year- Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Nat King Cole, Vince Guaraldi and the like. A fabulously musical yet instantly "accessible" CD I buy several copies of each year for friends and family...my favorite Christmas record not just steel guitar related, and I am an Christmas music junkie.
PF's Christmas CD is also a masterwork. It's also on my gift list every year .
then of course, self promotionally there's: Holiday Limited an Christmas CD by my band Last Train Home... not exclusively steel guitar instrumentals, but there are a few sparkly moments of PSG, and the overal disk is pretty cool holiday listening....[This message was edited by Dave Van Allen on 31 October 2003 at 07:20 AM.] |

Now if Lloyd green had a Christmas CD as well, that make a lot of campers happy, myself included. |

I REALLY recomend the Paul Franklin christmas
c.d.!!! The other ones are all good too, but paul
was trying to use as much steel as possible on his
c.d. On most the songs he has at least 2 or 3
steel guitar tracks. He has the tracks harmonizing with himself. On some of the other c.d.'s mentioned the steel is much more sparse.
