I've been working with a vocalist who I think has a great handle on many styles, in a somewhat eclectic band called Lana Hawkins and Sweet Dreams. The band was formed after Lana played Patsy Cline in a local production of 'A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline'. This is a link to Her website .
And here's a soundbyte . Just steel / bass / drums, a great voice, and a superior Keith Whitley tune.

Larry-I just listened to your song and it sure sounded good. What kind of echo and reverb or profex did you use? What kind of Amp and guitar? The tone was very good...al

Gee, thanks guys. You're too nice.
Al, it's The Beast through one of my Standel Custom XV's. Can't beat a push-pull and a Standel. I think I was using a Boss GT-6 with delay and a hint of reverb.

I really like the LACK of a guitarist pounding out the rhythm. At times I think the world would have been a better place without the invention of barre chords and cymbals. |

Just for comparison, here's the same tune, instrumentally, with a 7-piece band.

AMEN
This is great,Very Nicely Done. Nothing can beat a good tight 3 piece band, everything else is overkill.
