I'm sorry to announce that the "Rebel and Ricky" sound clip and tab site...is now Closed.
I just spoke with Rebel(Graham Reid)...and he has No time or inclination to run the site anymore.

It was a GREAT resource! Are there any plans to transfer the info to another site? It would be a shame to lose it all.

The site was created and Maintained by Graham Reid(Rebel); and I only wrote tab.
It's up to him on the future of that site.

Graham and Ricky - we have been here before, but it looks as though this really is the end. I think its fair to say that everyone who has benefitted from that wonderful site owes a big debt of grattitude. Thanks guys.

I'm fairly new to the PSG and it was a great resource to pick up intro's etc.I'm sure gonna miss it.Thanks for all the tab and all the work that went into maintaining the site.

There are few things that have thrilled me like what YOU did. Since I was a child, I have rarely ever listened to the words of songs; opting instead to zero in on the intro's, turnarounds and ending's that the musicians have done. In most cases, I could not care less for the words.

I often pondered the incredibly laborious task of filtering out these priceless dittys from the classics in country music. But I usually thought to my self, "That is next to impossible".

Yet YOU did it Graham. And you have fulfilled a life long dream in my heart. I am fortunate enough to have downloaded all of the ones I love; and many I have always wanted; but did not have in my own record collection.

There are NO words that can tell you what this means to me. Both your wonderful site and "The Record Lady's" site have caused me to amass almost 600 of the world's greatest in country music; in my Real One player

With its ability to randomly select and/or continuously play these unprecedented melodies, dating all the way back, my home is never without beautiful memories and nostalgia; as my pc plays them all the time.

Thank you Graham; and you Ricky, for what you did. It is a blessing that only a few fans of music have ever known. May Jesus bring you much joy; for the joy you have brought to us; always,

I am new to PSG but what little I have used the site it was wonderful and I did enjoy it so much. I would be willing pay a fee if some one could or would keep it going.

This site was a great learning tool and its a pity thats its gone.

I was using it big-time just recently....it was quite a resource and is a shame to lose it.

I might be willing to host it on my dollar (of course that would depend on a number of factors)......If Ricky/Graham would be willing to transfer files to me somehow, maybe it could be worked out.

I guess it would also depend on how many folks would use it, but from the comments I see here it looks like it will be sorely missed.

Hi Rick and fellow steel players. This is news to me and I live about a mile from Graham. Graham is a close friend and yet I did not hear of the site closing. I am going to call him tonight and see if we might be able to do something to keep it going. The work you guys have put in it has been amazing and I think it should be there for all the Steelers to enjoy. I have a new CD coming out and Graham and I are going to post it tonight, so I will be talking to him about the site too. Best wishes to all .. Thanks Paul..

Can these files be kept by SGF which can be accessed by its members without maintenance? Or am I being terribly naive? I was very disappointed to see this invaluable resource close. As a new steel guitarist, I would spend hours a week on this site. I want to thank everyone involved with the site for their time and effort.

You should know that almost every page on the web gets archived at www.webarchive.org. It's a public non-profit founded in collaboration with the Library of Congress & and The Smithsonian to create an "Internet Library."

The upshot is that you can pull up old, defunct websites, including the Rebel & Ricky tab site. The Wayback Machine allows to pull up a browseable snapshot of the site. Just enter the URL of the site you want (http://users.interlinks.net/rebel/steel/steel.html).

It doesn’t contain the audio files, but you can get to the tab. For some reason, the tablature icon isn't displaying, so you have to click in the white space next to the audio file icon to get to the tab.

I printed alot of pages from that great site and recorded audio samples on my boombox, luv listening to em when I'm soakin in the bath tub. Thanks Ricky and Graham and those who donated stuff, we all learned alot. Man, I didn't know about the archieves thang, good to know. Right on!

I have indicated to both Ricky and Graham my willingness to maintain this site. All I need are the files on a CD... but I've had little to no response.

It makes no sense to let all this work go to waste... it was a GREAT resource. If Graham can't or won't keep it going, there will be NO problem finding someone who will.

I haven't spoken to Graham, and I absolutely do not presume to know what he thinks, but I would guess that after pouring his heart and soul into this web-site for the past bunch of years, for relatively very little thanks and nothing much else, he would not be inclined to just hand over all his work to someone else. I don't blame him either. Graham has been utterly magnanimous in his desire to help other players, at his own expense in time and money, and received very little recognition. Now, it's too little too late, and it will take I think a lot more than a few well-intentioned gestures to get him to give up this incredible asset. Again, please keep in mind that I have no idea what he thinks, I'm only surmising based on common sense and my general understanding of human nature.
