Did a gig at the Gramfest in Joshua Tree this past weekend. I played steel with one band and tele with another band that featured Sneaky, Gib Gilbeau, and a big surprise was Bob Warford who was great on that bender guitar. Pete is doing well, I got to take a long close look at his guitar which was cool. 8 strings, 9 pedals and 2 KL, and tons of electronics built into the upper console. didnt have the nerve to interrogate him about his copedant. It also looked like he was using a huge bar, seemed bigger than a one inch diameter.

Wasn't last week the 30th anniversary of Gram's death?

That's pretty cool that you got to play with everyone.
Are you the same Jesse Harris that plays in the "Old No. 7" bluegrass band? If you are then I just want to say that I dig your playing(we've jammed together at a few bluegrass festivals).
Maybe sometime we'll get a chance to jam together on the electric stuff.

Was Sneaky playing thru a Stereo Steel Walker amp/preamp?

ya he was playing a stereo steel unit, but I personally think it held him back, with all the people on stage pete could not hear himself at all, ne needed his trademark dual session 400s.

I think Stereo Steel (600w) would be louder than 2 Session 400 (400w).

I don't think it was due to any limitations of the equipment, but more about Pete's familiarity with the gear, also I only saw one speaker up there, there could have been another one. I just think they should have made his setup a priority , instead of it being a bum rush the stage kind of setup. But thats the way things go sometimes.

From the audience, Sneaky's steel sounded huge. On mellow tunes, you could almost hear Jimmy Day.

because Pete was complaining that he couldnt hear it on stage and I know I could barely hear him.

When we opened for the Burritos back in
the mid 70's, I got to look over Pete's
old Fender 400 from up onstage.
At that time he had two smaller pickups.
They looked like 8 string Strat pickups.
