I'm surprised no one has commented on this new release. Dan is on a couple of cuts quite extensively.
Nothing groundbreaking or technically challenging for sure, but it does sound nice and our instrument is getting exposed to a new audience.

Speaking of ZZ Top, was there a pedal steel on "I'm Bad, I'm Nation wide" ?

Dan did those overdubs from his home studio outside Nashville. He has recorded with soooo
many people. A very versatile player.

Mark,
I'm not sure if there is steel in that one, but there is steel on the song "Shiela".

I saw ZZ at the Soreline near SF a couple of months ago, and I thought they were great. As good or better than when I saw them in 1984.

ZZ Top sounds a hell of a lot more country than some of the so called country bands today, IMO.

Barnes and Nobles showing on the credits of the ZZ Top releases no pedal steel. Which CD is with steel guitar on ZZ Top? The latest CD is "Mescalero" and on Oct.14 a new one will be released with the name "Chrome,Smoke and BBQ" .
