Hey Pickers,I'm looking for a great steel man who taught me 25 plus years ago how to get started. He lived in North New Jersy and worked for a band called Kinder Hook Creek. GREAT GUY and due to my travels in the USA I lost contact. Can anyone help,Thanks Frank Mariano

Hey Frank,

I don't know how to get in touch with Stan Taylor but I do remember him and Kinderhook Creek. I used to go see them a lot at Art Stock's Royal Manor North in New Brunswick, NJ. What a great band! Great club too. I always wondered what happened to the guys in that band.

Good luck getting in touch with Stan.

Hey Ted,Thanks for the response,I hopesome
can help me find out how to find Stan.By the way did you ever get to see The Desperate Men in Jersy? They had another great steeler named Tim Conroy, any clue where he is? Did you ever go to the Red Rail to hear music? My Best, Frank

Hey Frank,

Tim moved to L.A., changed his name to "Conway" and became an actor. You might remember a little comedy stint he did on the Carol Burnett Show some time ago. Believe he was a regular for a while. I hear he doesn't play anymore these days.

Frank,

I only got to see the "Desperate Men" once, at a place I used to play back in the 70's called the Pittstown Inn in Pittstown, NJ. And I never got to the Red Rail. Where was that?

Do you remember a band called "Temperance Hall"? Or a left-handed steel player named Jim McManus?

Ahh, the 70's!
