I have a confession to make. I love the animated TV show "Daria" which is currently playing on a children's cable TV station. They show 2 episodes every day.

This station frequently plays rock video in between shows. Yesterday they showed Robert's, thereby exposing a lot of kids and teenagers (Daria is really aimed at teens rather then children) to Robert and the steel guitar.

I cannot see how Robert can fail to inspire some of these kids to take up the steel. They may not want to play traditional E9, (then again, some of them may after a while,) but this HAS to be a good thing.

I think we are going to see a huge resurgence in interest in the steel as a result of Robert's success.

My girls love Dharia, so I've been in the room many times when it was on, whether I wanted to be or not. But no RR clips yet. I've also caught quite a few episodes of Sponge Bob, and have made my girls aware that the instrument always noodling around in the background is the same one Daddy plays (okay, I use pedals, but they don't seem to be concerned about such subtleties).
