Dear Fellow Members: Well lets see----where do I start. First I'll say that this thread is not intended to generate a lot of replies but moreless just to say thanks to all of you. A year ago my steel guitar world was very small. The only players I knew about were myself (an I'm not calling myself a player) and the elite group around Nashville that have been playing for 40 years and help develope the steel guitar. The only steels I knew about were Emmons, Sho-bud, and MSA. I had heard and seen pictures of others but knew knothing about them. I'd never heard of Carter, Fessenden,JCH, and the many others. I did'nt realize there were so many other great players on the scene. I won't even try to mention names because I'd leave out some and they are all worthy of mention. The Forum has become such a form on intertainment and education to me that I never watch TV anymore.(it sucks anyway). I have learned so much about the steel guitar just from reading post from other members. I would also like to say thanks to all who have ever answered my questions and replied to some things I posted. Also, thanks to the Forum, I learned to operate this computer. When I joined, I could'nt turn it on. If, you think about it, The Forum has every thing TV does. Any earth shaking news will show up. We have Telemarketing,(buy & sell) Theres comedy--somethings that were meant to be serious are funny. WE have the Fights. Also there is a lot of politics (a lot of sucking up). I know that I'm a better player because of the Forum because I've picked up a lot of tips and a lot of does and don'ts. In closing(for now anyway) I'd like to say thanks to bOb for creating this great sorce of knowledge an intertainment. Also to helpful peoble like Ricky Davis and Bobbe Seymour(I've learned a lot from Bobbe). Well, this is getting long and I'm starting to ramble. I know all of you out ther don't have a clue who I am and don't care, but you have made the past year very enjoyable. THANKS-----Eddie Malray----PS donation to bOb on the way |

I'd like to add my agreement to the letter as well. I've been a steeler only a few years, and have learned a great deal here on the forum.
Thanks to everybody who participates and shares their knowledge, and especially to b0b for hosting this wonderful source of information. |

I've been playing steel for decades. I've learned more here on b0b's wonderful Forum in just four years, than I had learned during previous sixty years.
I've met some of the finest people in the world and made some truly rewarding friendships. Aside from an occasional agitator now and then, for the most part, everyone here is ready to help you in whatever they can. More importantly, they are sincere and caring people.
Enjoy! |

I can only echo Ray's remarks...(incidently, we are both old pharts! ) No matter what organization you belong to, you will always find an agitator or two...But they just add the spice to things, don't you agree? The Forum has, and continues to be a real joy to me as I have "met" so many fantastic people whom I will probably never meet in person. |

Ditto on Eddie's comments and thoughts. And I have had the pleasure to meet and make alot of new friends from this Forum. Being a newbie to the PSG world the Forum has helped me in my ability to do what little I can with the steel. Not to overlap Eddie's post THANKS TO b0b AND ALL THE PEOPLE I HAVE ENCOUNTERED in my short time in the PSG world. You've all been a BIG help and it has been MY pleasure. |
