Johnny Bush called me at home last night, after he had called Herb Steiner first of course (does the Buck Owen's song "Second Fiddle" come to mind?), and told me that 3 hours earlier he had talked to the "BIG E" and said to him "Well Bud, I'm going to sing in St. Louis this year at Scotty's kind invitation and I don't give a **#! if you come at all!!" To which Buddy replied, "Well the "H", "E", "Double Hockey Sticks" to you John, I'm comin' now!! Go ahead and send me a few songs that you want us to do together" John then said, "Fine. I'll do that! Can I tell everyone that you are comin' for sure?" Buddy replied,"I don't care who you tell, I AM COMING!!"
THERE YOU HAVE IT FROM THE BIG E HIMSELF!!! SEE YOU THERE!!!

Guys,
I hope this is true, all of us on the sound stage mixing last year were "KNOCKED OUT"
with "THE BIG E's" tone & touch. Buddy was great but ,he always is.
HEY BUDDY, WILL YOU BE THERE??????

Yes I did talk with Johnny Bush and we will be rendering a few songs together in St. Louis. I don't know my schedule yet but I'm guessing I'll be doing a mixed set of instrumentals and vocals with John Friday night, and a Saturday afternoon solo set.

This is very good news. This will be our first Scotty's with-out having Dick Miller
at the Bethel Booth...He was a wonderful
guy and so much fun to 'socialize' with...
and I will sorely miss him, but knowing
Buddie's coming makes it a lot more to look
forward to...many thanks to J. Bush for the
part he played but more thanks to Buddie
for deciding to come.

I wasn't gonna go this year. I guess I've just changed my mind.
Anyone know what the hotel situation is like. I know the millenium is full.

Steve, I think the Marriot is the official overflow hotel, same rate as you'd get at the Millenium.
See ya there

Marion,
You don't remember me but your dad helped me by working on my steels when I lived in Richmond Virginia when I first got started... Your dad was one of the finest people I've ever known, and built a great steel guitar.
Just wanted to say Hi

Looks like I must go into hock (not really) and make it to St. L. and see ~Big E.~
I had hoped to budget a trip there, but it was just over the horizon,
but Buddy's presence will sort of flatten the world a few degrees for me.. LOL.
Baring the unforseen I will try to get there.
Two trips to the USA in one year; haven't done that in awhile.
Edit 29/7/3 Yes I will be there. All booked and anticipating a great show and tons of stuff to see, hear and learn.
Plus a bunch of forumites to meet too.
[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 29 July 2003 at 02:38 AM.]
