Hi Guys,
Just put up a sound file of myself at a year and a half. Am I going forward or did I take 3 steps back? Any help or comments are welcome. Click on my site and goto the time line page. http://www.gwixon.com

George,
If I may be so bold, I have two suggestions which may benefit your playing. You are under no obligation to try anything I suggest, in fact if you take any notice of my observations at all, you will join a very small but select band of people!!
1: Set your volume pedal so that when it is physically backed right off, there is still approx 20% volume coming through. Steels sound better when the attack can be heard IMHO.
2: Tune your steel so that the effects of cabinet drop can be minimised, ie when you tune the 4th and 8th strings, do so with pedals A and B down.
Richard.

George,
I would say that you are certainly going forward. I listed to the 10 month clip and also the year and a half one, and could easily hear an improvement.

Good job too, on the restoration of the ol' Bud. Looking good!

Also enjoyed reading your webpage. Your first experience at the jam session sounds like a few of my past experiences as well!

Take care, and keep with it. You're doing good.

Thanks for all the input that I've gotten from all. It goes a long way to help in knowing things that I didn't think I had a problem with and ways to improve on them.
