Hi Baz...John Marsden should receive some form of recognition for all he has done during his lifetime to promote the (Hawaiian) Steel Guitar. His knowledge of the history of our instrument and its players surpasses anyone I am aware of. In all probability, his collection of Hawaiian recordings is only exceeded by that of Dirk Vogel. John has always been more than willing to share both his knowledge and recordings with anyone who contacts him.

The point is :- The Jerry Byrd Lifetime Achievement Award is well deserved by John...BUT He knows NOTHING about it whatsoever.

Could SOMEONE please throw some light on the subject.

John has been my closest friend for the past 45 years and I promised him this morning that I'd get to the bottom of this .
