Sometimes I get to a job early and would like to kinda get warmed up, but don't really know what to play. If they're playing country on the juke box, I usually play along with very low volumn. Otherwise, I'm about three or four songs into the first set before I feel comfortable. Any sugestion other than a stiff drink (Iwouldn't play any better but at least I wouldn't care)

Buddy's Therapy by Bud Charleton. I don't know where you'd find it or the Tab. The "Playing Silk" tape version seems to have a flute or some other whistle-instrument playing the main part.

Also Mr Emmons' Cold Rolled Steel is a good warm up, or the lead part on BB's Ricky Scaggs "Country Boy at Heart" will get you there.

Hookey, actually. I usually get there about 20 minutes before time to play. My first set is my warmup. I don't recommend this, but don't apologize for it either.

A couple of measures of "Tennessee Border" in the style of Billy Robinson and/or the same with "I Gotta Have My Baby Back" with Rex Allen and Jerry Byrd's arrangement.
I'm able to determine instantly what string(s) might need to be tweaked and/or what tone adjustments are needed.
Not being a speed picker, I tune to SLOW songs. It works for me.

Raymond, Steel Guitar Rg is a good warm up for me, after that a couple of Hanks like cold cold heart or Mansion on the hill..~~~~~~~Earl
