After reading some of these threads I had to comment on something that I think goes mostly unrecognized. It's great to see all the steel players in the world today but I think we need to take our hats off to guys like Tom Brumley, John Hughey, Buddy, Ralph Mooney and a host of others who recorded on so many mega hits over the years. Lets face it, everytime these guys recorded, most of us were able to make money because of the steel being so prominent in a record. Thank God for all of those hits with Steel Guitar. I've been able to eat many dinners because of them! |

I agree 100%. It's great that there's a genre of music that features our instrument, and includes some of the greatest players in the world on hit songs. I know bandleaders who won't sing "Together Again" or "Farewell Party" unless there's a steel player in the band.
