I tthink this forum is beginning to cost me an arm & a leg. Seriously, I am not just talking about all the hours I waste surfing all the topics, but as I read the posts I become convinced that I HAVE to buy whatever is being talked about. For example, in the last three months, not only have I bought 4 CD's, ordered 2 more plus a tab course, I have lusted after a BJS & a Zirconia Bar; become convinced I need a new GFI, vintage Sho-bud, & a push pull Emmons, and am looking into an Ampeg; bought an older Sho-bud amp, a Peavy backstage amp, & am about to buy a Fender Vibrosonic; am convinced I have to have a Hilton volume pedal; bought a Boss Chorus to change my sound on the bandstand; am interested in finding out about a ovtave splitter pedal; subscribed to the new steel guitar magazine; bought a second single neck Mullen so I don't have to lug around the weight of a double neck... etc. Help! I can't afford to read the forum anymore!! E-bay makes it worse, cause you can always find someone who has this stuff for sale!!

Tom, you just need some "won't" power, as opposed to willpower!!!

I don't play golf or own a pair of lime green
pants so pedal steel is my passion.

The forum is a good place to learn the art of self-restraint. Remember, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's gear.

Bought the Sierra Artist from Herby Wallace through Steel Guitar Forum connection. Bought the Fessenden in the Buy and Sell, bought the Session 500 the same way. Reconnected with Ronnie Miller through the Forum and bought his GFI in St. Louis just three hours after calling my wife and promising her I wasn't going to buy another guitar.

I've bought a bunch of CD's, strings, instruction books, videos, took the trip to St. Louis. All because of the Forum.

Result is many many hours of enjoyment. Connected with a great hobby. Have not touched a golf club in several years which has saved me thousands.

Result is I've come out way ahead and had the time of my life. Thanks to b0b!

What's money?? Ya can't take it with ya. Whats the difference between a large pizza and most musicians???? Most of the time a large pizza can feed a family of 4. Most of us are always searching for some new gadget to plug in. It's great. The forums provide a great medium for that.

Window Shopping only costs me 44.95 per month with Road Runner. I guess that is cheap enough.

For me, this forum is extremely reasonable compared to the Digidesign (Pro Tools) forum. I could've owned an Anapeg and a couple of vintage amps for the $$$ I've pumped into recording gear.
