I'm laughing my a$$ off here. I'm about to put an old 1956-57 Fender Catalog on Ebay (just sold a 1958 one) and was looking at some of the pictures in it. There are some great pics of Leon McAuliffe, Noel Boggs, Alvino Rey, Thumbs Carllile, Curly Chalker, on and on. BUT, I got to one page that has a picture of this "guy" playing his Triple Fender with a couple of other guys playing Bass, Guitar & Accordian. The caption below says "Judy Carver and the Triple J Ranch Hands". Umm, is that our own "Judy" Carver? Sure looks like a guy

That was a typo. At the time Fender had an
outside advertising company handle all the advertising. Leo Fender and Donald Randall let it go and said,,maybe now you will get more attention.

I took a lot of kidding over that. Thats a quad guitar and not a triple. The silver haired gent was my dad.

This was a photo taken before we played at the Sands in Las Vegas, and I told those who asked about the typo, and I told them,I think
with a name like Judy,I may be more popular.

So there in history is my name Judy. But I dont walk like one,at least I hope not

One other time I was called Joby..I didnt mind, the money was the same, the guitar was the same and I was the same. Im happy I gave you a laugh. I have been called other things in my life, but not often.

Thank you my friend

Judy Carver

Better than making you cry.I hope

I've had that catalog for years and never noticed it until today. Amazes me what these things are bringing. I sold a 58-59 catalog last week on Ebay for $355. Now I wonder if this typo will help or hurt it Thanks again Jody, and your comments about my Dad recently were greatly appreciated.....

I have an original 54 Catalogue,,,wonder what thats worth in $$$,,I keep it because
MY photo is in that catalogue with a few other unknowns IT's MINT as can be expected
Im not mint,Im old and worn. and not worth much.

Dont tell anyone you know me..the value of your catalogue will depreciate I came out of the closet

Jody, my good "BUD", you will never grow old. You just keep getting better as time moves on. Your tales always put me on the edge of my seat, with either tears or a mile wide smile on my face.

I think we need to start a campaign to make "JODY OR JUDY CARVER",an official "STEEL GUITAR FORUM CLASSIC".
