Hi there:
I frequently listen to an album recorded in 1966 by Freddie for Kapp titled "The Hart of Country Music". Some of the songs are Hank Williams Guitar, What A Way To Go, Excuse Me for Living, You've Got It Coming To You. Wondering who the steeler was for those sessions. Merry Christmas to everyone and God Bless !

I seem to recall a good bit of Peter Drake.

Lloyd asked me to forward this information:
"Beginning with the album "The Hart of Country Music", recorded in l965 on Kapp
Records, I played steel on almost everything Freddie Hart recorded the rest of his career on Kapp Records and Capitol Records through about l979, including "Easy Lovin'". Any songs without me during this period, other than road band albums, would have happened only because I was already booked on other sessions.
Pete Drake recorded with Freddie prior to the aforementioned album."

Those were the days when producers were'nt afraid to use copious amounts of steel.
Don't we all wish it would return????
