There was a post awhile back about Redd playing steel guitar. Has anyone heard anymore about that? I would have to think he would be a very imaginative player. Thanks in advance for any response....rj

| I think Redd "Volkaert" had Ricky Davis sell his push pull on the forum here a few months ago (probably so he could buy car parts for one of his projects). He plays KILLER steel licks on his tele, so it would be scary to hear him after woodsheddin' on a steel! He is an incredible musician and a great guy. |

Last time I was in Austin, Red was saying he
was saying all he could get was a confusing noise. Bless him for his talents on the Tele.

Its probably a good thing for all that might have to hear it or maybe have to try and work against it, but like Dyke says, I sold my S10 so I could buy more parts for my 53' Studebaker (priorities you know) as I have better luck getting a consistent sound out of it.
If I could find a 53" LDG I might try a little harder next time!hehe
So for now the steel community is safe and (good) sound(ing)!!

With your closing remark, I see a little songwriter in ya.
For steel, just lean over to your bandleader and mouth the lick you like inserted and he can probably lay it down.
Keep up the great work. I hope the boss doesn't retire and I get to see you all again in 2003.

| Chris I assure you that you were playin in key and walkin that bass. Redd did a great job, as usual and Ricky was tearin the hide off that Sho-Bud of yours. I gotta say it was a lotta fun hangin out that night and hearing you guys do such a great job and havin so much fun while you were doing it. Ty was havin a good time too and has that style that makes the rest of you guys "want" to get into that sound... Great job |
