Two days ago Susan Alcorn was the vicim of a burglary, and the thieves stole all her musical equipment except for her steel. Here is a list of the items stolen.
Stewart "World 1.6" power amp
15" JBL -- GD Walker cabinet
15" JBL -- Sonic cabinet
Peavey Session 500
4 space rack
2 space rack
Kline pac-a-seat
Goodrich CD2 volume pedal
Lexicon LXP1 reverb
The thieves also stole all her
cables, picks and bars as well as her
RealTube distortion pedal and Korg chromatic tuner.
Susan's insurance doesn't cover and of this loss.
I think we all need to ship in and help her out. Those wishing to make a contribution, please send whatever you can to:
Susan Alcorn

Thank you. |

It was right after her performance. The thieves stole the equipment out of her van.
In addition to the other gear, she also lost a Lexicon PCM 70, a Focusrite Tonefactory preamp, and an Avalon U5 preamp.
The PCM 70 alone is worth around $1,000. This is a major loss for Susan. I hope nothing like this ever happens to any of us ever again.
I'm sending Susan a check and I hope the rest of you do the same. |

I'm happy to contribute what I can. I hope they find the jerks who did this.

Geez, Buddy Cage and now Susan. Now friends, I have to ask, why are people leaving gear unattended in vans? I live in New York City, and if you try that here, well, you'll be looking for new gear in no time flat. I don't leave my gear unattended ever, no matter where I am, why risk it? I am really sorry to hear about Susan's loss, but mystified as to when there is a heap of stolen gear stories out there, why anyone would risk leaving 5 grand plus sitting in a van. Not blaming the victim mind you, just hoping that some will read this and try to protect their investments.
There are insurance companies that cover music gear for pros no matter where it is, at home, on the road, local gigs; everyone should have it. |

I sent Susan 50 bucks this morning. It's all I can afford.
I hope the rest of you will follow suit. She lost thousadnds of dollars worth of gear. The PCM 70 alone cost $2,000 when it was new.
I like to think that if any one of us was hit like this, we'd all chip in and help. If we don't help each other out in situations like this, who will? |
