I just came home from Paris, France after a vacation week of eating fantastic foods, seeing the Eiffel Tower and a lot more. Great town but no country music. Tried the Pariscope! No luck! Thanks to Anders Brundell, Crowbear, Nick Allen and Henry for all the help. Yes, I know Jean Yves Lozach since way back but didn´t have his adress or telephone number. I got a call for a session, but they couldn´t find a pedal steel in the entire Paris for me. Next time I´ll travel with my Derby D-10! Just to be sure to have something to play on if I got another call for a session!

Janne´s remark about carrying a steel with him when abroad, " in case someone should approach him about a studio job," isn´t as far-fetched as some of you guys may feel.

Janne is a a highly rated and sought after session player in our "Old World," and his work always enhances the product of any artist.
He was one of the very first steel players in Scandinavia,and throughout the years, he has recorded with innumerable artists, published many steel courses and even made great contributions towards introducing the steel guitar behind the old iron curtain.

To us - over here in Northern Europe - Janne is one of the best known and appreciated steel guitarists around. Hence, the possibility that European artists may want to avail themselves of the opportunity of having him do some steel work on their recordings if he is in their neighborhood, is really not unfounded optimism, but rather reflects a realistic appraisal of his reputation as a musician in our neck of the woods.

I'll second that, and add, that if someone over here is a true pioneer of steel guitar, it's definately Janne! Hälsningar, min vän!!

I´ll second that. It was nice to listen and se Janne play at Scottys back in -76. And he is also a very goood gentleman and freind.

i'm sure they could have helped you.
i did tell you that findin' Country Musik in Paris was'nt goin' to be easy.

Hi guys and thanks a lot for the answers! Especially to Steinar for the long story about my work for steel guitar! But I am sure everybody understood that I was joking when saying that I have to take my steel with me when having a vacation. Nobody will carry about 35 Kg if it is not necessary, no matter how many calls for sessions you might get! Paris was fantastic as usual and the food just marvellous! If you haven´t been there before, you have to visit that city! On your way back home come to Stockholm and I´ll show you some swedish steel!!
